Also, instead of following the Heysen trail North to Parachilna a scenic loop walk can be made by going the other way - East through the ABCs up to Red Hill Lookout and then follow the Mawson trail south and then the Monela Hut to Yulna Creek trail West. This is a variation of the Yuluna Loop walk, one of three walks described on the Hayward's Huts walking leaflet available from the Royal Geographical Society and found at trail heads and NPWS offices. Longer walks on the leaflet are Aroona to Youngoona, and Trezona Loop. Aroona Valley is something special. Don’t forget that the campsites near the old outstation have spring water on-tap!
