Dear Rhododendron Friends,
Sikkim-International Rhododendron Festival is now being held from April 25 to May 21, 2010. The inaugural ceremony will be held on April 25 in Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary, home of around 24 secies, located in Yumthang Valley in North Sikkim spread over 43 square km. We are keen rhodo enthusiasts join us from Australia and New Zealand. This is the first time rhodo festival in such a grand manner, sponsored by the Government and organized by the departments of Forests and Tourism , is being held in the Himalayan region. Dear John,
The Forest Department in the Govt. of Sikkim is planning to hold a week long Sikkim International Rhododendron Show cum Festival in the first half of May 2009. I wonder if you would be able to organize a group to bring along from Australia. You will have access to all the rhododenrons growing areas in the Sikkim Himlayas besides viewing the displays of trusses gathered from most inaccessible places.
